Words from the Cover Artist

When Carin asked me to design the cover of “In The Middle” for her, I didn’t really know what to expect but she sent me a working copy of the book, and I was hooked. I finished it in two days. I couldn’t put it down because this difficult story describing a period of Carrie Young’s life that felt like it was coming apart at the seams, was inspirational at the same time. It is a story of strength through faith. This is a novel that will hit home to anyone traveling through a difficult patch of their lives.

Janice Schoultz Mudd designed the cover for In the Middle. She is a mixed media painting and collage artist whose abstract landscape paintings reflect the spiritual and temporal confluence of the world we all inhabit together.  As in the cover art for this book, she weaves aerial landscape, captivating color, and abundant texture through her artwork to describe the personal stories and journeys of families, individuals, and cultures.  You may see more of her work on her website and Instagram.
